What a fantastic way to close out 2014: an unprecedented networking event featuring seven of the area’s professional marketing organizations. About 150 members from these organizations were on hand to meet new friends and connect with old acquaintances:
• 314 Digital
• Ad Club St. Louis
• American Marketing Association (AMA-STL)
• Business Marketing Association (BMA-STL)
• International Association of Business Communicators (IABC-STL)
• Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-STL)
• Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS-STL)
The event took place at the T-REX building in downtown St. Louis. Luckily, I ran into Ron Landolt, CEO of LANDCO Construction, who gave me some insights into how this older space has been turned into a new, creative gathering place for start-ups. The old bar, donated by AB, was so big it had to be hoisted through the windows with a crane. The community space also offers 30 wi-fi monitors, pool table, a variety of seating areas and unique features like the bottle cap bar back drop and the wall-hung fireplace.
Even better, attendees donated 415 canned good to Food Outreach and 39 toys for Toys for Tots. Thanks to our generous sponsors (Anheuser-Busch, Digital Intersection, Defiance Whiskey, Atomicdust, Simplify Commerce and Every Event), we were also able to donate over $600 back to Food Outreach and Toys for Tots.
Look for more “Jurassic” events to happen in 2015!
