    Looking to boost your InDesign efficiency, add a little automation and learn nuggets of knowledge while increasing your operating speed?  Julie Shaffer, CPSM of Shaffer Creative Training, an Adobe Certified Expert in Indesign and an award-winning designer is hosting a two-part InDesign workshop for SMPS St. Louis to help you advance your skill level.

    If you are an intermediate to advanced user, then these workshops are for you.  You can register for one workshop or for both.  These live, virtual sessions will be recorded and available for viewing (but not downloading) for all attendees for 60 days.

    Topics include:

    InDesign Intermediate Styles: Wednesday, March 3 from 9 AM - 11 AM CST

    • Basic InDesign Refresh: Discover what you need to know from InDesign basics to readily execute the tools you use most.
    • Next Styles: Learn how to set up next styles and format text with one click.
    • Nested Styles: Learn how to set up nested styles and format text with built-in character styles.
    • GREP Styles: Understand basic GREP expressions and automatically style text and/or find repetitive content to save you time and give your document that “wow” factor!
    • Automated Org Charts: Learn Julie’s most popular efficiency feature!
    • Table Styles: Learn how to set up tables and insert them into a document.
    • Cell Styles: Create cell styles that work with your table and paragraph styles, not against them.
    • Automating Your Workflow with Styles: Format an entire page with one click of the mouse!
    • Tips and Tricks: Tips for making eye-catching layouts in record time, as well as tricks that will make your future projects a breeze.

     

    InDesign Efficiency Tricks: Tuesday, March 16 from 9 AM - 11 AM CST

    • Scripts: Automate your workflow with built-in and downloadable scripts.
    • Table of Contents (and Creative Ways to Use the Feature): Discover another automation tool that can save time as well as serve as a useful self-check method.
    • Shortcuts: Did you know you could create your own keyboard shortcuts? Learn how to do this yourself.
    • Span and Split Columns through Styles: Why is this table in the wrong column of my multi-column layout? Learn how to stop anchoring text frames that need more or fewer columns than the main frame.
    • Text Variables: Use text variables for captions, dates, running headers, and more.

    Substitution Policy
    Any substitution to a Member exclusive event will be charged a $100 fee.

    Walk-in Policy
    To ensure we can comfortably accommodate all attendees, anyone who registers after the deadline will be charged an additional $10 walk-in fee.

    Cancellation/Refund Policy
    Cancellations made 48-hours/2 days prior to the event will be fully refunded. Due to our commitment with the meeting facility for food and beverage quantities, all other cancellations or no-shows will be invoiced for the full cost of the event. In the event the registrant is unable to attend, another individual from their firm can attend and the attendee will be expected to pay-at-the-door any applicable cost difference (ie: member vs non-member).
