About The Program
The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 by a small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to build their businesses. Today, SMPS is the only national association that brings together business development and marketing professionals from the architectural, engineering, planning, interior design and construction industries. SMPS represents a dynamic network of 6,800+ marketing and business development professionals and 3,700+ firms throughout the U.S. and Canada. Its mission is to advocate for, educate, and connect leaders in the building industry.
SMPS St. Louis is proud to offer a variety of financial assistance programs throughout the year. Scholarships are a member benefit.
Eligible Conferences
SMPS St. Louis is offering up to three (3) scholarships to three current SMPS St. Louis members to be used toward their registration for MVRC, Amplify A|E|C or The Pinnacle Experience. Learn more about these conferences and application deadlines here.

Missouri Valley Regional Conference (MVRC) is a bi-annual regional conference focused on providing professional development opportunities for business development and marketing professionals in the A/E/C industries.

Amplify A|E|C (formerly Build Business), hosted by SMPS National, is the premier business development, marketing, and management conference for design and building industry

The Pinnacle Experience is a symposium-style learning opportunity for senior marketing leaders. This thought- provoking event lets attendees discuss fresh ideas, exchange unique perspectives with other industry leaders, and learn about and share inspiring
Criteria
These scholarships are available to chapter members only, and covers the full conference registration fee. (Travel expenses, meals, etc. are not covered.) Current board members are not eligible. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the chapter Executive Committee and a recommendation will be made to the board of directors. Winners will be announced shorlty after applications close.
The scholarship applicant must meet the following criteria:

Current SMPS Louis Member

Member in good standing with one year of continuous membership in SMPS

Marketer, Business Developer, or Technical Professional

Senior Marketing or Business Development Leader (The Pinnacle Experience applicants)
If you meet the above criteria, but have already registered for the conference, you are still eligible for the scholarship - and reimbursement for the conference registration fee will be issued after the conference.
If you are selected but can no longer attend the conference, please reach out to Past-President Julia Pluff, F.SAME immediately.
The selected scholarship recipient(s) must commit to work with the chapter to share their conference experience with other members within 30 days of the conference, by speaking briefly at a chapter event, writing an article for the chapter, or some other mutually agreed upon method, to be determined jointly by the chapter board and the scholarship recipient. Participation in a newsletter interview is encouraged, but it is not considered one of the required give-back activities.

Scholarship recipients must register for the event themselves. Reimbursement from SMPS St. Louis will be issued upon completion of required giveback activities.
